Some exciting opportunities for 2015!

Hi All,

Don’t miss an opportunity to take advantage of some of our great dives planned for this year! Check out the calendar here. Some notable dives worth mentioning here:

February 28: Wreck of the Comet/Orca

I’m particularly excited about February’s dive because it is the first wreck dive I can remember being planned for the club since I have been a member. We are going to the wrecks of the Orca and the Comet on February 28th in Port Hadlock. See the write-up on the website. These wrecks are straight out of Scott Boyd’s and Jeff Carr’s book and are both accessible by shore. Email me if you are interested. We can work out the rides up and probably necessary overnight stay Friday night.

June 27: Summer picnic/camping Pine Point @ Timothy Lake

Come for the club sponsored annual picnic and crawdad catching (no permit needed) and stay on if you like for a fun night of camping and possible diving on Sunday. This is the first weekend of summer and should be a good way to start it. Side trips to Little Crater Lake are always fun. We have two sites booked for camping both Friday & Saturday night. Contact me if you’d like to reserve a space in our site.

July 24-26: Annual Salt Creek trip

This will be some of the best tides in the last few years for a summer weekend at this site, so please don’t miss out. There is beautiful diving to be done on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in northern Washington. The most important thing you can do this week is log onto the Clallam county reservation site link and reserve your campsite for this trip. The sites go fast. I have complete details here. New this year is the reservations are all done online.

We’ve got other great trips including crabbing, Keystone, and one that I am really excited about in September but am not quite sure if it’s a go yet so I can’t say anything here.

And if this isn’t enough info for you, I’ve decided to host a couple of info session nights in North Portland. Please come for drinks and to learn more about any of our upcoming trips. Some of these are a little further afield and I want to make sure I give you the info you need and make you want to come. Look for a Facebook event invite on the Facebook group page for specifics. We’ll be meeting at The Lucky Lab on N. Killingsworth on both Thursday, Jan. 29 and Monday, Feb. 9. Come to one or both but neither is mandatory for going on trips.
