Laura’s Bio: My name is Laura Tesler and I have been taking photographs since I was 10 years old. I always knew I was going to do something in biology, I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Fisheries Biology in 1994 from Oregon State and have have been employed in the biology world since 1996. I studied freshwater fish biology, however, I was always very drawn to marine biology…my career led more towards the freshwater application than salt water so I had to satisfy my earnings for marine biology by learning how to dive. I had always wanted to dive, especially after growing up watching Jacques Cousteau with my mother. On my first dive in Oregon my wish came true as I was sitting on the bottom, at 50 feet, watching black rockfish swim in front of my face. I’ll never forget how I felt that day! Although I usually do an annual warm water trip, 90% of my dives are cold water to date.
