Let’s Volunteer!

Hi Everyone,

I am writing to inform everyone of two very exciting volunteer opportunities for the club.  Last year we had a beach cleanup party on Agate Beach, it was so successful and fun that we’re bringing it back this year!  We’ll be volunteering with SOLVE Oregon on August 5th for the Seaside treasure the beach cleanup.  This event will be similar to last year.  We will be walking the beach helping to clean up litter.

A second opportunity will also be available.  On September 10th those interested can help clean litter out of the Clackamas river on some of the heavily trafficked areas between Estacada and Oregon City.  As many of you know this is a popular river in the summer for people to float down.  Not everyone is careful to pack out their trash.  The fun part for us is that we can help out on SCUBA gear.  Note this is also the weekend of our Clear Lake club dive trip.  The Clear Lake dive is the day before on Saturday 9/9.  I know some people plan to stay the weekend there.  For those who are interested to do both that is certainly an option!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at webmaster@oregonscuba.com
